Static sites — Starter and Business — are hosted with us at a flat monthly rate. The care plans build on top of that if you'd rather not think about the site at all. All three are month to month, and you can cancel or switch whenever you like.
Custom builds are different: a backend needs a real server and database running around the clock, so hosting for those is priced with the project. Whichever applies to you, the exact monthly figure is in your quote before you commit to anything.

Domain name
Paid directly to a South African registrar in your own name, once a year. We don't mark it up and we don't hold it — it's yours from day one.
Managed hosting
A flat monthly rate for a static site, from the day it goes live. It doesn't move afterwards, whatever the platforms do. Custom builds are quoted separately.
That's the entire list — there is no third thing. A custom build with a backend needs a server and database behind it, so hosting for those is quoted separately, and you'll have the exact monthly figure with the quote before you commit to anything.
Why don't you publish your prices?
Because a real number beats a made-up one. Two six-page sites can differ by a lot depending on how many photos need fitting, whether the words are already written, and what the site has to connect to. We'd rather ask a few questions and give you a fixed figure you can actually rely on than post a price you'd have to be talked out of.
How quickly do I get a price?
Usually the same day, always within one working day. Tell us what your business does and roughly what you're after, and we come back with a fixed number, not a range. It's free and there's no obligation attached to it.
Is the quote really fixed?
Yes. The quoted figure is fixed for the scope described in the quote. If we underestimate the work, that's our problem, not your invoice. The only time it changes is if you ask for something that wasn't in the brief — and we'll tell you before we do it.
Do your prices include VAT?
Quotes exclude VAT. If we're registered for VAT at the time of your quote it'll be shown as a separate line, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
What if my project doesn't fit a package?
Plenty don't, and that's fine — just enquire. Anything bigger than the Business package, anything that needs a login or a database behind it, and any custom-built app or tool is scoped and quoted per project. Tell us what it has to do and we'll price it properly.
What's the difference between the packages and a custom build?
Starter and Business are static websites. That means the pages are built and served exactly as designed — they load fast, they don't break, and there's almost nothing to hack or maintain. It's the right choice for the large majority of small businesses.
A custom build adds a backend: a database, logins, and content you or your staff change yourselves. That's more work to build and it carries a monthly running cost, so we only recommend it when you genuinely need it.
What am I actually paying for with hosting?
Hosting on a fast global network, an SSL certificate that never lapses, uptime monitoring so a problem gets spotted before your customers find it, and a person who answers when something breaks. It's a managed service, not a line item we're reselling.
We could put your site on a free tier and take our chances. We don't, for two reasons: free tiers change their terms whenever they like, and when that happens someone has to absorb the cost or your site goes down. A flat monthly rate means your price doesn't move and neither does your site.
Can I host it myself instead?
Yes. The site is yours — we'll hand over the files and help you move them, at no charge. You'll be responsible for keeping it online after that, and we'll bill hourly if you need us to help with it later. Most clients decide the monthly rate is cheaper than an afternoon of their own time.
Do you take a deposit?
Yes — 50% up front books your slot in the calendar, and the balance is due when the site goes live. EFT or card, with a proper invoice either way.
What happens if I want changes after launch?
Business package clients get 30 days of free tweaks. After that it's an hourly rate, or a care plan if changes are a regular thing. Either way you'll know the figure before we start.
